Your shadow self is just as important as every other aspect of your being and deserves consideration and thought. Sometimes the cup does feel half empty, sometimes you cannot see any lesson or learning in the moment. Sometimes you just need to feel into grief, shame, sadness and angry. And that is ok.
I'm not perfect by any means and neither is my life.
This reality is part of the full human experience tho. The light doesn't shine as brightly without darkness.
Today I received some less than perfect news at the doctors and, over the last few days have been in pain and feeling out of sorts. I haven't been on top of my game as a result and again, that's ok.
Even last night, I did not step into my lunar practices as much as I had intended. I did some manifesting and journaling but I didn't end up bringing out all my crystals, dancing, meditating and sitting up in cacao ceremony as I might otherwise have.
The potency of a full moon lasts a few days so I know I have that grace period and guess what? Now, after giving myself time and bearing witness ... I feel so much better. So tonight I will step into the beauty and elevation of ritual.
That's the great thing about actually honouring where you're at and your emotions - you naturally shift through things anyway.
If you choose instead not to gift yourself this process then you will always come full circle back into the folds of trying times and, it takes so much longer to bounce back. Worst of all you might never receive enough detachment to see the big picture.
So, we need to be our own therapists.
We need to spend more time sitting in silence and listening to ourselves rather than trying to pile on every healing solution under the sun without a moment's delay.
We need to give ourselves space to move through all emotions. Good and bad. Because they all have their place and they are all important.
My challenge to you today is to sit in meditation or do breath work and ask yourself exactly what you are feeling and then explore it without judgement. Embody it, speak it out and then allow yourself to shift organically. This can be such a liberating practice.
