Inner Winter Essential Oils

Today I'm on Day 1 (officially now because it was dragging a bit) of my cycle and for me, I really feel my inner Winter deeply.

I used to berate myself for this, especially when I worked in the corporate world and having high drive and energy was idealised all month around. This was also at a time when I was on the pill and the high highs and the low lows of my cycle were muted accordingly.

When I finally came off the pill after 10 years and, after having multiple pregnancies and my children, I was faced with a cycle that was quite challenging, where my inner winter came along twice most 28 days, where I ended up continually iron deficient because of having an excessive bleed and, where I wasn't exactly sure how to support myself.

I started following period coaches of the likes of @monicayateshealth and @alisharosekruger, I started learning about my cycle and the power of it. I started embracing this aspect of my womanhood and working with it rather than against it.

Some of things that I now incorporate into the menstruation phase of my cycle to help with a normal amount of cramps etc. are: breath work, extra sleep, extra rest, self retreat and essential oils. Personally, I love using Peppermint, Lavender (both of which are in the Young Living premium starter pack which you can grab here), Copaiba and Clary Sage for soothing, calming and to help with muscle tension.

Some other great oils during this time are Cypress, Rose and Cinnamon 🌿

What about you? What're your go-to tricks to help during the first few days/week of your cycle?

P.S.
