Estrogen Peak Bonuses
Feeling energised, randy and laser focused? Chances are, you’re in the Inner Summer phase, days 12-18 ish of your Female Menstrual Cycle. I’m currently on day 17 of my cycle and my body definitely understood the assignment.
As estrogen peaks during this phase, a number of things happen in our bodies.
Ovulation occurs if you’re not in extreme flight/fight or extreme deficiency.
Our bodies switch from relaxing progesterone dominance to energising estrogen dominance.
We see an up level in:
Our ability to read others
Our inclination to network and socialise
Capacity for HITT workouts
Brain energy (which can then translate into less sleep)
These are just a few of the things that you may consciously notice.
Back in the day when I didn’t track my cycle, I was in constant comparison to my Inner Summer whenever I wasn’t in it.
I didn’t understand why it was only sometimes that I weighed less, slept in less, naturally ate less, had more energy and was ticking more of my at the time boxes.
This was at a point in my life when I swung from anorexic to bulimic to extreme dieting/exercise, was struggling mentally and, had a lot of self worth issues.
Not understanding what my body was doing and how it beautifully fluctuated throughout the month did not help the situation.
Aside from a lot of self development work and learning how my mindset and programming work … understanding my cycle was instrumental in taking control of my narrative.
